I'm an Italian native translator based in Antwerp, Belgium. I graduated in translation in 1998, and since 2001 I've worked full-time in the field — as a freelance translator, an in-house senior Italian-language specialist, and a project manager for international IT and translation companies in Italy, the UK and Belgium.
For me, translating is never just moving words from one language to another. It's about carrying across the cultural nuances that make a text actually sound Italian — the register, the references, the rhythm a native reader expects, whatever the source language.
That sensitivity is especially central to my transcreation and copywriting work: I don't just adapt marketing and brand copy so it reads correctly, I rebuild it so it lands the way it was meant to with an Italian audience — matching tone, intent and cultural context rather than translating word for word.
Alongside that creative work, I bring deep technical range: to date I've translated several million words across highly technical and specialised subject matter.
I've also followed the evolution of translation technology every step of the way — from the first word processors and CAT tools thirty years ago to today's most advanced platforms — so clients get quick turnaround on highly technical texts without ever compromising on quality.
I've also translated literary titles into Italian for publishers including Guanda, TEA and Elliot — among them books by Nick Hornby, Bill Bryson and Malinda Lo.
